JAG PT's Sports Medicine Residency
The JAG Sports Residency Program offers our clinicians the chance for a paid post-professional education process. This process includes one-on-one mentoring, structured curricular experiences, and guided learning with expert faculty and clinicians and on field game coverage with elite athletes. The aim is to enhance the quality of patient care, sports physical therapy management and practitioner knowledge.
The sports residency program equips physical therapists with the necessary knowledge, experience, and skill set required to pass the certification examination upon successful completion. The program is currently seeking accreditation from the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education (ABPTRFE).
Program Features
- $0 Tuition
- Prorated Salary based on patient treatment hours
- Approximately 1600 clinical hours
- Approximately 160 hours of academic instruction
- 150 hours of one-on-one mentoring with clinical experts
- Complete at least 200 athletic events coverage (can include pre, during and post-game athletic management)
- Opportunity to participate in cadaver labs at Dominican University
Criteria for Admissions
- 60 days of continuous employment during prior 6 months from application date
- Current, permanent, unrestricted valid license as a physical therapist in the state of practice
- Meet all eligibility and competency requirements to be employed as a practicing physical therapist within JAG Physical Therapy
- Be in good standing with JAG PT & Profession
- 3 professional letters of references (1 from a supervisor – past or present)
- A personal letter of interest – maximum 800 words
- Complete an interview with the residency coordinator and director

- Current BLS certification
- Active APTA membership, including Sports Section Member
- Emergency Medical Responder (EMR)2 certification
*preferred prior to application, required to sit for Boards Certified ATC’s and EMT’s meet the requirement for EMR2 certification

- Applicants that graduated more than 5 years prior to the application should demonstrate commitment to their specific field via continuing education, section involvement, scholarly work or teaching

Diana Ramotowski, PT, DPT, OCS, SCS
Board Certified Sports Specialist
Diana Ramotowski received her Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. Diana has been a physical therapist for over 15 years and has worked with patients from birth to active adults to Olympic and Professional Athletes. Diana holds the elite distinction of being double board certified in Orthopedics (OCS) and Sports (SCS) placing her in the top 1% of all physical therapists in the country. Additionally, Diana is certified in various areas including Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, SFMA, Cupping, and Integrative Dry Needling. She is a certified clinical instructor from the APTA and continues to help educate young PTs as an adjunct professor at Rutgers University’s physical therapy program.
